The Agence pour l’Enseignement Français à l’Etranger (AEFE) is an international network of 580 French schools worldwide. For the first time this year, the AEFE has decided to award “Palmes de l’Enseignement” to schools that have demonstrated outstanding action in a number of educational and cultural fields. Seven themes were selected: inclusion, the fight against discrimination, innovative actions, cultural action, linguistic promotion and openness to the host country, guidance and commitment. EFIC competed in the Commitment category, showcasing the school community’s actions in the field of sustainable development through a dossier and video presentation. EFIC was selected by the national jury as one of the finalists for the Palme de l’Engagement. This is a great pride and honor for our small school, which is thus encouraged to continue its action in the field of sustainable development, for which it has already obtained level 1 of the EFE3D label (Etablissement français de l’étranger en démarche de développement durable).
