Kindergarten class assistant for the start of the 2024-2025 school year
Job Description
The French International School in Colombo is looking for an assistant for its kindergarten class (pupils aged 5).
Commonly known as ‘ATSEM’, the person recruited will assist the teaching staff in welcoming, animating and caring for young children.
Main tasks :
- Help the teaching staff welcome children into classrooms
- Assist the teacher in preparing and/or leading educational activities
- Help children acquire autonomy
- Supervise children at naptime and on school outings
Ensure that hygiene and cleanliness standards are maintained throughout the day
- Participate in events taking place during the school year.
Profile required:
The person we are looking for must understand and speak French at B1 level. Baccalaureate level preferred. Early childhood education or a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a nursery or elementary school.

Primary School Teacher (M/F)
Job Description
Do you want to work in a small-scale organization, within a dynamic and motivated team? The French International School of Colombo welcomes students from preschool to high school. The institution is accredited up to Grade 6 (CM2) and is affiliated with the AEFE (Agency for French Education Abroad). Secondary school students follow the CNED (National Center for Distance Education) program.
We are hiring a full-time qualified French primary school teacher on a local (French) contract.
Profile:
- Hold a teaching certificate from the Ministry of National Education in France (with a minimum of three years of experience in preschool or elementary education).
- Previous experience in teaching abroad is appreciated.
- Have a good command of English (due to the inclusion of neo-French-speaking students).
- Enjoy working in a team and in collaboration with others.
- Have a good understanding of digital tools in the classroom.

Mathematics-Sciences
Job Description
Do you want to work in a small-scale organization, within a dynamic and motivated team? The French International School of Colombo welcomes students from preschool to high school. The institution is accredited up to Grade 6 (CM2) and is affiliated with the AEFE. Secondary school students follow the CNED program.
We are looking for a mathematics or sciences teacher for the secondary level (middle school and high school), responsible for teaching according to the French school curriculum. The role also involves coordinating the CNED teachings.
Profile:
- Hold a teaching certificate from the Ministry of National Education in France or possess at least a master’s degree.
- Have a thorough knowledge of official programs and the process of the National Diploma of Brevet and the Baccalaureate exams.
- Be capable of advising students on post-baccalaureate options.
- Have obtained at least a level 5 PIX certification.
- Have a good command of English (due to the inclusion of neo-French-speaking students).
- Have at least three years of teaching experience (experience in teaching abroad is appreciated).
- Enjoy working in a team.
