CNED teacher and tutor of mathematics and science (physics-chemistry, life and science sciences, technology) - middle and high school, with responsibility as CNED coordinator
The French International School in Colombo (Sri Lanka) is looking for a full-time CNED teacher and tutor of mathematics and science (physics-chemistry, life and science studies, technology).
- As a CNED tutor, the successful candidate will teach mathematics and science subjects at secondary school level (16 hours of tutoring).
- In addition, he or she will teach scientific subjects (physics-chemistry, life and health sciences) in the 6th year class (7 hours 30 of teaching), which will open at the start of the new school year with a view to certification.
- This position may also include responsibility for coordinating CNED activities (1 hour per week).
Job Description
- To supervise and support students taking CNED courses in mathematics and other scientific subjects (physics-chemistry, life and science studies, technology) from 5th grade to the end of secondary school, adapting the teaching to their specific needs and providing them with pedagogical support.
- Teach mathematics and science (physics-chemistry, life and science studies) in the 6th grade class that will open at the start of the new school year (small class size).
- Coordinate teaching activities in science subjects and the organisation of the CNED.
- Monitor and evaluate pupils’ progress, in collaboration with the educational team.
- Contribute to the creation of teaching tools and the implementation of educational projects.
- Advising students on their post-bac career choices.
Candidate profile:
- Education Ministry diploma or Master 2 in a scientific discipline.
- Significant teaching experience (at least three years), if possible with knowledge of the CNED and distance learning systems. Experience of teaching abroad would be appreciated.
- Perfect knowledge of French curricula (collège and lycée), of how the diplôme national du brevet and baccalauréat exams are conducted, and of the French education system.
- Excellent teaching skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Good command of English
- Good command of digital and educational tools.
- Organisational skills, ability to coordinate educational projects and manage several tasks simultaneously.
- Dynamic, rigorous and passionate about teaching the humanities.
